The 14th International Filling Mining Congress Was Held In Canada

    From May 12 to 15, the 14th International Filling Mining Congress was held in Vancouver, Canada. The conference, titled "Full Cycle Innovation Underpin Fill Mining Development," was hosted by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and the Patterson Cook Company. The conference selected a total of 73 papers, covering the whole process of filling mining innovative methods, mine filling test, filling material characteristics and additives, filling pipeline layout and slurry transport, filling physical science, filling equipment, filling mining cases and other research results. More than 200 delegates from the world's leading mining countries, including China, the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Poland, Sweden, India, South Africa, Serbia, Morocco, etc., attended the conference.

    Guo Lijie, deputy director of Mining Engineering Research and Design Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Group and member of International Mine Filling Committee, was invited to serve as chairman of the sub-conference. Dr. Guo Lijie and Dr. Liu Guangsheng, Professor Tan Yuye of Resource Engineering Department, University of Science and Technology Beijing, special Associate Professor Yang Chun of Central South University, Senior Engineer Gong Yongchao of Changsha Institute of Mining Research, etc., respectively, made reports on the meeting, introducing the latest achievements in the field of mine filling in China, which attracted wide attention and heated discussion from international counterparts.

    During the meeting, the International Mine Filling Committee held a committee meeting. The meeting confirmed that the International Filling Mining Congress should be held every two years. The meeting also adopted Guo Lijie's proposal report on holding the next congress in China, and confirmed that the 15th International Filling Mining Conference will be held in May 2026 in Beijing, China, co-sponsored by the China Non-Ferrous Metals Society and Mining and Metallurgy Technology Group Co., LTD.

    The conference fully demonstrated the latest research achievements made by Chinese scholars in the field of mine filling mining, and promoted academic exchanges and cooperation between Chinese experts and international counterparts. Being able to successfully obtain the right to host the next meeting fully reflects China's leading position and strong strength in the international mining field.
